Reading The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho, I gained a strong impression that the main lesson in this book is to find your purpose in life. This story takes place in the desserts of North Africa as well as southern Spain presumably during the 1700's. It is about a boy who goes in search of riches in the Pyramids after having recurring dreams of the treasure. He takes on a journey to find his treasure and achieve what is called his Personal Legend. A Personal Legend is the goal you were meant to accomplish when one is born on the Earth. The main characters in the book other than the boy are the Alchemist, the Crystal Merchant, the Englishman and the King. They all contribute to the boy's journey by leading and convincing him to achieve his.....
