Summary:   Character details from War and Remembrance by Herman Wouk.


Leslie Slote:
Leslie works in several places during the war.  At the beginning of the book, he works in Switzerland as a political secretary.  He continued to work for the state department until he decided to confront his bravery problem.  Slote becomes and parachutist for the war effort and actually dies making a jump in Europe.

Natalie Jastrow:
Has a son named Louis.  Natalie is still trying to get out of Europe.  She comes close to taking the ship called Izmir but at the last moment is taken off the boat.  Eventually, both she and Aaron are taken to the "Paradise Ghetto" where they are treated horribly.  It is located in Theresienstadt, Czechoslovakia.  At the ghetto, they are barely fed and are treated as less than dirt.  She sends her son away to hopefully grow up safely.  Later, when.....
