Summary:  

Literary Analysis on All The Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy

    All the Pretty Horses is a story created by novelist Cormac McCarthy, set in 1949, Mexico.  Upset by the disappearance of cattle-ranching in their home state of Texas, two adolescents, John Grady Cole and Lacey Rawlins, leave their homeland on a journey to Mexico and earn jobs breaking horses at a highly respected ranch.  At this ranch, Cole meets, and becomes enamored with, an affluent young woman, Alejandra, and the two begin a clandestine  romance. When her father discovers the affair, he has Cole and Rawlins arrested and thrown into a savage prison where they are badly desecrated.  The two are released from jail by means of Alejandra's aunt, Alfonsa, who pays their bail. Cole returns to the ranch to claim his horses and to wed Alejandra.  A different John Grady Cole emerges from the.....
