    Lithium, expressed on the periodic table as Li, is one of the most reactive elements on the periodic table. It belongs to a group of elements called the alkali metals, Lithium being the lightest. Lithium has three protons and four neutrons in its nucleus. It also has three electrons in its natural state.  It has an average atomic mass of 6.941. Lithium's natural state is solid at 298 K.
