Kids today are very different from kids one hundred years ago. One way that kids today act different than before is in their behavior. Kids' behaviors today are based on being "cool" in front of other kids. In the momoir, This Boy's Life, by Tobias Wolff, Toby tries to act cool in front of his friends and other kids. Being cool is essential to kids because they are only a kid once, they have to fit in, and they have to feel good about themselves during the hard years of childhood.

A person can only be and act like a kid when they are at a younger age. If an adult were to act like a kid, then they would be looked at and treated differently because adults are.....
