Wars

Summary: From century to century as European countries grew they looked to the outside to

support their growth needs. Their needs could be as simple as land, or the population of

the country for labor, or the countries natural resources which they could turn into

products for their industrialization. Most of these countries used their technological

advantages to dominate and take over the desired country.


During the British imperialism of India, Britain considered India the brightest

jewel in the crown. India was a major supplier of raw materials for Britain's industries. In

addition it's 300 million people were a target to market its product's. Britain set up

restriction's to prevent the people of India to take charge of their own economy. Britain

was taking the raw materials from India and then selling the finished products back to the

people of India.

    During the late 1800's and early 1900's most European countries believed that to

be truly great they needed to have a powerful military. The people of each country felt

very patriotic because of the major military power that their country had. Several of the

great powers formed alliances that were designed to keep peace throughout Europe. What
