Summary:   Deals with Charles Dickens as well as the history behind the novel "Great Expectations."


In the past many convicts have found ways to break out of jail and the get through the security. The security guards have been thinking of ways to keep prisoners from escaping. Prisoners have been escaping from jails since the jail was invented. In Great Expectations a boy named Pip goes on an adventure with a convict throughout his life. Great Expectations, by Charles Dickens, was based on events lifestyles from the Victorian age.

Charles Dickens was born in Landsport, now part of Portsmouth, England on February 7, 1812. His father was a Pay office clerk for the British Navy. When Dickens Father was caught embezzling he was put into jail and Charles had to be taken out of school to work in a Blackening Warehouse that made shoe polish.(Priestly. J.
