Justice is and never will be worth an innocent man's life. The Charter of Rights and Freedoms would be totally violated by capital punishment. The threat of death to prevent murder is an empty one. When innocent lives are 'hanging' in the hands of a few, a negative outcome is certain. Capital punishment should never be reinstated in Canada.
Capital punishment is against Canada's Charter of Rights and Freedoms. Section 15 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms states that "every individual is equal before and under the law and has the right to the equal protection and equal benefit of the law without discrimination and, in particular, without discrimination based on race, national or ethnic origin, colour, religion, sex, age or mental or physical disability" (Canada Online).
