When one hears the name "Benjamin Franklin," he might think about any of several different attributes that the man who bore the name has bestowed upon the entire race of man. Electricity. Printing. Publishing. Inventing. Advancements in science. Poor Richard's Almanack. Philosophy. Fire prevention. Abolition of slavery. Politics. The Declaration of Independence. Perhaps Franklin's greatest contribution to man was simply himself. He stood as the model hardworking, patriotic, God-fearing red-blooded American. He believed that there was always something he could improve and perfect in his life, and never stopped trying to accomplish everything he set out to do. He believed in the rights of free speech and a government that benefits every citizen.
