Summary:   Essay briefly discusses various aspects about Mexico.


In Mexico, Spanish in the official speaking language. Mexico is located in the Western Hemisphere and is the 5th largest country there. Mexico is bordered by the United States on the north, the Pacific Ocean on the west, the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean Sea on the east, and Guatemala and Belize on the south They have a very fast population rate. Their estimated population is currently 104,907,991. Mexico's capital, Mexico City, is one of the largest cities in the world. Also, Tabasco is one of Mexico's largest oil fields. In Mexico City, there are several mural artists in Mexico and a lot of architecture is used in Mexico.

Some characteristics of Mexicans are they like to eat corn or wheat tortillas, beans, chili peppers, and tomatoes. Soccer is the most popular national sport in Mexico. They don't only like soccer; they also enjoy watching television, movies, rock concerts, and sports. Mexicans like to attend traditional bull fights.

The average Mexican dresses alike to people in Europe and the United States. More wealthy families dress in more traditional clothes and the original dress worn by many Native Americans often shows the difference them from mestizos (who mostly wear European-style fashions)

Mexico's currency is peso. The U.S. dollar is used frequently in Mexico because of American tourism. One dollar in America is 5 to 8 pesos in Mexico, but the exchange rate is 9.46 pesos per $1 (U.S.)

The current president of Mexico is Vicente Fox. Some interesting facts about Mexico is that in the early 1900's, about 43 percent of the population at 15 years old has already received some sort of college education. That is almost half the population starting college at 15. Americans typically start college between the ages of 19 and 22.
