During the 1800's and early 1900's, there were many types of reforms in America. These reforms, as well as reformers, helped make the U.S. a better country during this time. These topics of reform would be Civil Rights, Political Reform, Interstate Commerce, Women's Suffrage, Temperance, Helping the Needy, Exposing Corruption, and Regulation of Industry. Also, one man who helped the U.S. in this time of progression was a great reformer. That man would be President Theodore Roosevelt.
Civil Rights is and was a very important part of the U.S. It became more of an issue after the Civil War, and after the assassination of President Lincoln. Before 1865, they did not count unalienable rights for Black people, even after the Civil War. Unalienable rights are rights that belong to the people, not to the government. Andrew Johnson.....
