Lady Macbeth

Summary: Essay describes the character of Lady Macbeth, and how she changes throughout the play of "Macbeth" by William Shakespeare.
At face value our first acquaintance with Lady Macbeth is a character that is vicious and seemingly courageous. Although she has the form of courage she lacks substance in being the courageous person she portrays. Lady Macbeth believed that her husband (Macbeth) was not wicked enough not follow through with the murder of King Duncan; she was the factor that pushed Macbeth into submission which led to the murder of Duncan. Revealed is her falseness during the time of the murder, for Lady Macbeth had been drinking for courage and with that she confesses her fear. In the end Lady Macbeth goes mad from a guilty conscience and constantly tries to rid herself of it. After reliving the murder in her dreams, Lady Macbeth takes her own life.
