Summary:   Essay describes the four main types of droughts, why they occur, and how to prevent them.


The most important resource to mankind is water. The body demands at least one liter a day any less can be fatal. A drought happens when the water supply is less than the area's demand. Water is important to us, so we should know why droughts occur, and how to prevent them. There are four main types of droughts. Meteorlogical drought is the most common drought where an area gets less than the normal rain amount.

An Agricultural drought is where crops do not grow due to not getting enough water. A Hydrological drought happens after a Meteorlogical drought occurs for an extended period of time and the water table, lakes, and streams are deficient. The last major type of drought is a socioeconomic drought. A socioeconomic drought happens when the water supplies are so low.....
