Summary: The following is an analysis of the effects of dramatic devices and structure in the speech from Antony and Cleopatra.
The scene I am going to be looking at is act 1 scene 1, there are many different dramatic devices that can be used in this scene, and I believe them all to be very important, just as I view the first scene to be important, because it allows the audience to know what is going to happen the rest of the play is just showing the way in which it is happens. Things such as lighting and setting are important, but I believe what is more important is the way in which lines are delivered, for example Cleopatra's first line,

`If it be love indeed, tell me how much'

If this line was delivered by Cleopatra in a low key, with no enthusiasm. It would hardly be effective at all, but if she were to deliver it in a teasing, flirtatious way it adds a whole new dimension to...
