Everyone wishes to leave their mark on the world in some way or another. Some are able to do it, and some are not. For those who do manage to leave their mark, some of their methods of attaining fame are more exciting than others. Whether they win a war, or they discover a new mathematical formula, they leave their mark. Ferdinand Magellan was not very well known for the more exciting things he did in his life. He served as a page in the Portuguese Royal household, which is probably known only by people who researched him. His service in the Portuguese military is not known by many people. He is more well known for something much less exciting. Sailing in a boat for a few of years does not sound very exhilarating. Magellan left his mark on the world with a boring voyage around the globe...
