Lost in Deceit

Summary:   Essay discusses how the character of Marcus Brutus is the true tragic hero that is lost in deceit in the play "The Tragedy of Julius Caesar" by William Shakespeare.


Throughout The Tragedy of Julius Caesar, written by William Shakespeare, and since the play has been created many have looked to Caesar and thought of him as the hero. However, as I read this dramatic piece and truly thought about this topic I can not help but perceive Brutus as the genuine tragic hero. Although, Caesar places a miraculous visage on while he is around the plebeians and Marc Antony, Brutus sees him for his true self despite the deception. Caesar places many false acts on his illness when his affliction has no actual effect on those certain outbursts. He speaks to the people of his opinions and if no one accepts them he says that his illness took over him and he did not mean what he said. Brutus saw all of this and was.....
