Saddam Hussein

Summary:   This is an expository essay on Saddam Hussein and his rule from the beginning to the end of his rule.


He is the leader of his country. He uses fear of brutality and torment to rule. He has maliciously killed millions of people. Almost all of them are citizens of his country. Many were tormented or beaten to the death, some of the others were ambushed. Who would do this to his own people? Who could be so inhumane? Saddam Hussein is responsible. He came to power in Iraq in 1978. Ten years before his political party, Baath, had taken over Iraq's government.

In June, 1979, Saddam had President Bakr placed under house arrest and was sworn in as President. When Saddam became dictator, he had all the "traitors" killed. He filmed and had it distributed to the Iraqi people to show them his power. If anyone dares to criticize him they will be punished by death......
