Summary: Essay describes how the level of an individual's writing develops over a period of years.
In addition to creating their own new methods, most ancient cultures advanced themselves through cultural diffusion, yet this was no entirely true regarding the ancient Chinese civilizations as exemplified by the development of a complex logographic writing system. This was the catalyst for the abrupt proliferation of the Chinese civilization.

During the Shang dynasty the development of writing was the key to the advancement of the Chinese civilization. If writing did not evolve then China today would not be known for it's political, social and economical structures. The political bureaucracy was first formed in Chinas Shang dynasty. This development was one of the most profound inventions that changed daily life of the king. He, how now because of daily journalism could control his commanders with out the problem of miscommunication.
