Anne Frank: Diary of a Young Girl

Summary:   Essay consists of a study of the diary of Anne Frank.


Anne Frank, was a thirteen year old Jewish girl. She had one sister called Margot, Edith her mother, and a father named Otto. All of these followed the Jewish religion. In 1942, the Frank family fled their home in Amsterdam and went into hiding from the Nazi-regime. The "Secret Annexe" of an old office building became their new home for the next two years. They were cut off from the outside world, faced boredom, hunger, and constant fear. As every day passed, there was an even greater threat of being discovered and death itself was part of the Holocaust horror. The term Holocaust means total burnt offering. Six million Jews, 1.5 million Jewish children including Anne Frank, were exterminated. Five million civilians including Polish intellectuals, Russian civilians, Gypsies, homosexuals and others were targeted groups......
