Summary:   Essay provides a film analysis of the movie "Field of Dreams."


The title Field of Dreams speaks volumes of the movie. The story follows Ray Kinsella as he listens to his heart and helps others' dreams come true. He follows his conscience when he obeys a strange voice's instructions throughout the film. In doing this Ray not only helps out the ghosts of the Chicago White Sox baseball team and Terence Mann, but he also learns more about his father, whom Ray thinks lived an unfulfilling life.

The movie opens with Ray, along with his wife and daughter, living a content life on their farm in Iowa. Everything seems to be sailing smoothly until Ray hears a voice out in his cornfield. The voice gently whispers, "If you build it, he will come." Baffled and highly confused, Ray confides in his wife, Annie, about this reoccurring message.....
