What is a hero? A hero is a mythological or legendary figure often of divine descent endowed with great strength or ability. Some attributes of a hero include an unusual circumstance of birth, an event that takes place beginning an adventure for the hero, or possessing a special weapon. All of these attributes categorize King Arthur as a hero.

The birth of Arthur was unusual for his father was King Uther Pendragon and his mother was the wife of a duke. King Uther Pendragon, the father of Arthur, held a feast on Easter inviting all the lords and nobles of his kingdom. Among the guest came Duke Gorlois and his wife Ingraine, a woman whose beauty surpassed all others. King Uther Pendragon spotted Ingraine and focused all his attention on her.
