Hypochondrium is one disorder that many people do not understand. This disorder also has many definitions. One definition for hypochondria is chronic abnormal anxiety concerning the state of one's health, even in the absence of any evidence of disease on medical examination. It is also defined as a belief that real or imagined physical symptoms are signs of a serious illness, despite medical reassurance and other evidence proving no indication of any illness present in his or her body. Hypochondrias is defined as a mental disorder in which melancholy and gloomy views torment the affected person, particularly concerning his or her own health.

In the eyes of a hypochondriac, all they can think of is there physical or emotional health. A person can only get diagnosed with this disorder if for six months, he or she believes they have a serious disease despite what medical doctors might prove...
