The Basics of Democracy

Summary:   Essay provides a discussion of the various aspects of Democracy.


Democracy is a term that has been in dispute since early times. Democracy supports the people, their needs and ideas. It is found in many places in the world in different facets.

There are two most used versions of Democracy- peoples' democracy like in Eastern Europe(China) and Liberal democracy(Japan,USA, Israel). People's democracy means that there is an elite group of people who know what is good for the people and they work to achieve that.

Liberal democracy differs from the peoples' democracy in one crucial fact- it states that the people that the people make decisions for the people and not an elitist group of people have the right to make decisions for the whole. People's democracy is an elitist distribution of power. Liberal democracy is a strong belief that everyone should equally share the responsibilities that effect.....
