Essay provides a review of the book "The Rainmaker" by John Grisham.

This quote reflects The Rainmaker's focus on the fact that young ambitious students are drawn to the law profession in hopes of a successful career, and they often overlook they fact that a good job is not everything. Lawyers must spend long hours working on cases that may or may not even turn out a penny. They must defend a client whether or not he/she is guilty. All this takes a toll on the life of a lawyer, and they are often divorced, or they do not have time to lead a social life. This quote was said when the main character, Rudy Baylor, was speaking of his friend who went on to be a high school history teacher, even though the pay was not as good. His friend and his wife's combined salary equaled less.....
