Materials

* 1,000 ml beaker

* Pennies

* Electronic balance

* Medicine bottle

Procedure

1. Fill a 1,000 ml graduated cylinder approximately ½ full with water and record the volume of the water.

2. Fill the medicine bottle with water and lock the cap.

3. Place the medicine bottle in the graduated cylinder, and submerge it completely using a sharp object. Once the medicine bottle is submerged, record the volume of water.

4. Subtract the volume of the medicine bottle and water from the volume of the water to get the volume of the medicine bottle.

5. Empty the water from the medicine bottle and dry it completely.

6. Place the medicine bottle and the cap on the electronic balance, and add pennies until the mass displayed on the balance is as close as possible the volume...
