Industrial Relations

Summary: It is about the industrial relations and the new legislation.
Ever since the industrial revolution employees have had problems with safety and reasonable wages at their workplace. Many of them losing limbs and being exposed to dangerous chemicals for an awfully low income. This is why legislations and unions have been brought into effect. But the old legislation had many flaws and didn't give employees enough security. This is why the new legislations have been brought into effects and more work forces have unions to help protect their employees.

Effects of the new legislation

Since the 1st of July 1999 changes where made to the Queensland industrial relations system. These changes gives employers a guaranteed three month probation period allowing reasonable time to assess a new employees suitability for the job.
