Summary:  

Essay provides a brief discussion of the philosophical question, "Does destiny exist?"

Edwin Schrodinger helped propose that the paths of electrons can be predicted through probability. The Schrodinger wave equations along with the wave-duality nature of particles of matter are two of the most amazing scientific ideas. It is not because of what they say: electrons and other particles' positions can only be guessed at, but the ideas are surprising because of the implications these ideas have on the philosophical idea of destiny.

It is scientifically proven that in the subatomic world, nothing can be predicted exactly; everything is based on probability. If you were to shoot individual electrons through two slits on an opaque screen, onto photo-paper, there would be a pattern of dark and light across the entire piece of paper, not just where the two slits are.
