Macbeth

Summary:  

"Macbeth" is one of Shakespeare's most famous works. This essay looks at the deterioration of Macbeth from a valiant warrior, to a cruel and savage leader.

At the beginning of the play, Macbeth is a brave warrior, who has just come out of battle. You can tell however, that he is ambitious, as shown during the witches meeting with him. The three witches tell him that he will soon become King of Scotland, and this notion consumes Macbeth, fueling his ambition to higher levels. The three witches are the main contributors to his change, but Lady Macbeth also plays a large part, as it is her who pushes Macbeth over the edge.

My first impression of Macbeth was a mixed one. He was a great and valiant warrior, who was the saviour of the Scots during their battle with the Norwegians. He brought the Scottish army together and raised their spirits. Due to this, I had respect for him, as I knew he.....
