Specializing in youth-oriented fashions, she was responsible in the 1960s for the “Chelsea look” of England and the widespread popularity of the miniskirt and “hot pants.” After opening a successful boutique called Bazaar in 1957, she went on to mass-produce her designs on a multimillion-dollar annual scale.
