Seren, one of the Israel Defense Forces ranks, equivalent to captain. It is a biblical Hebrew word meaning "captain (or king) of the Philistines" - and by some theories, assuming that the Philistines were of some kind of Greek origin, "seren" is cognate with tyrannos.
