The number of military associations affiliated to EUROMIL has grown steadily since it was founded in 1972. At the end of the Cold War EUROMIL immediately opened its doors to military associations from Central and Eastern Europe. EUROMIL now comprises 36 associations from 24 countries representing nearly 500,000 individuals, the latest additions being from Malta and Romania. There remain representative military associations in some parts of Europe which may well be eligible to join EUROMIL, but are not members. The relatively new British Armed Forces Federation (launched in December 2006) is not a member at present, but has cooperated with EUROMIL on projects of mutual interest. Each of the following European countries has one or more representative military association affiliated to EUROMIL:
