Expanded Polypropylene, a form of foam polypropylene, used in energy absorbing applications such as; automotive vehicle bumper cores, seat cores, side impact bolsters, head impact bolsters, computer packaging and cushioning, dunnage, furniture cores, floatation, bicycle/motorcycle helmet cores, and airplane modeling and fabrication. Known for it's light weight, multiple impact protection, chemical resistance, thermal resistance, and durability. Material is produced as a particle bead foam, and molded in plank or shape form using Compression Steam Chest Molding technique. Density ranges from ~ 1.0 lb/ft3 (16 kg/m3) up to 18.72 lb/ft3 (300 kg/m3).
