Rick Reilly has been described as a combination of sports analyst, stand-up comic, and satirist whose journalism and book-length works have led a writer for Publishers Weekly to declare that Reilly "may well be the funniest sportswriter in America." A senior writer and columnist for the magazine Sports Illustrated, Reilly has received six National Sportswriter of the Year designations during his career as sports writer and author. He has co-written autobiographies and compilations with the famous sports figures Brian Bosworth, Wayne Gretzky, Charles Barkley, and Marv Albert. In addition to his nonfiction sports writing, Reilly is also the author of two novels, Missing Links and Slo-Mo! My Untrue Story, and a collection of his weekly columns for Sports Illustrated has also been published in book form as Life of Reilly.
Reilly was born in 1958 in Denver, Colorado, and at a young age he demonstrated the eager go-getter aptitude of a journalist in search of a story.
