The author of over two hundred books for young readers, Dennis Brindell Fradin has penned mostly nonfiction titles dealing with historical topics, science, and contemporary discussions of the states of the Union. Contributing to several reference-book series, he has looked at the territorial makeup of this country in the series "From Sea to Shining Sea" and "Words and Pictures." Fradin has additionally examined aspects of America's colonial heritage in his "Colonial Profiles" and "Thirteen Colonies" series, and with his "Best Holiday Book" series he turns his inquisitive eye to such important days as Christmas and Hanukkah. And if such series work totaling almost one hundred and fifty titles were not enough, he has also produced over fifty stand-alone titles dealing with scientific, historical, and biographical topics. A man who clearly loves his work, Fradin once explained: "I have the time of my life as a children's author.
