Colman's Class" series--a spin-off of a spin-off. Millions of teens and pre-teens have grown up with the antics and adventures of Kristy, Mary Anne, Stacey, and Claudia, and then found new friends with whom to identify with the addition of Dawn, Jessi, Mallory, and Abby to the club. These perennial middle schoolers have found their way into the hearts of young girls worldwide.

Contrary to the way that most multi-volume children's book series are produced, Martin did much of the writing for both of the main series, rising at 5:30 each morning to start her writing day and completing nearly two books each month. As the number of series grew, however, it was impossible for Martin to keep up with the flow of books, and other writers were brought on to help write some of the titles.
