Tracy Flick Can't Win Overview

In Tom Perrotta's novel Tracy Flick Can't Win, all Tracy Flick needs to feel accomplished and valued is to become Principal of Green Meadow High School. After her dreams of becoming the first female President of the United States died in the face of family tragedy, Tracy is desperate to prove herself to her family, community, and herself. The more determined she becomes to assume her boss Jack Weede's position when he retires, however, the more fleeting Tracy's chances of becoming Principal appear.
