The Royal We Overview

The Royal We is a novel told in the first-person by Rebecca “Bex” Porter, a young American woman who meets Nick, the Prince of England, during a semester abroad at Oxford. The two start a relationship, which faces turmoil because of Bex’s non-noble status and the highly-aggressive media who have hurt people in Nick’s past, and take on Bex as their next target. Bex struggles to balance life with Nick, her new roles as a public figure, and her relationships with her friends and family. The novel deals with the themes of duty, national identity, hidden relationships, and sibling relationships.
