The Nottingham 'Robin Hood' Marathon, is a race in Nottingham, England held every year since 1981. The race today incorporates a half-marathon, and a fun-run, in addition to the full marathon, whilst many businesses and charities take part in the popular "Hoofers Marathon Relay", in which teams of employees and volunteers run the race in legs of a few miles each. The event is sponsored by Experian, who have their headquarters in the city. The original race started and finished in the Old Market Square, in Nottingham City Centre. From 2002 onwards the race has started and finished from the Victoria Embankment (Nottingham) taking in some of Nottingham's most historical and scenic sights, including the city centre and Nottingham Castle, Wollaton Hall and parkland, the University of Nottingham and the National Watersports Centre at Holme Pierrepont. The 2007 event was rebranded as the "Experian Robin Hood Festival of Running." In 2005 Runners World Magazine readers voted the race the "Number 2 Marathon" in the country. The Robin Hood Marathon events are open to people of all ages and ability:

  • Marathon - Full 26.22 miles
  • Half Marathon - 13.1 miles
  • Fun Run - 2.5 miles
  • Wheelchair Half Marathon - 13.1 miles
