The Lost Heir (Wings of Fire #2) Overview

Tui Sutherland's novel, The Lost Heir, is the second of the Wings of Fire series. The dragons of Pyrrhia are involved in a civil war that has wracked the country for years. Many believe the prophecy about five dragonets bringing an end to the war. The dragonets --Tsunami, Clay, Starflight, Glory, and Sunny -- travel to the Sea Kingdom. Once there, Tsunami meets her mother and sister. She also uncovers magic that is killing off daughters who might someday compete for the throne. Coral proves herself a weak leader so that Tsunami realizes she belongs with the other prophecy dragonet. They leave the Sea Kingdom in the midst of an attack and make plans to travel next to the Rainforest to find Glory's parents. The novel's main themes include dedication to a cause, belief in the sanctity of life, and friendship within groups.
