Cassandra Clare's novel, The Lost Book of the White, is the second of the Eldest Curses series. This installment centers around Shadowhunters charged with keeping the world safe from demons while navigating the difficult interactions with Downworlders. Alec and Magnus are at the heart of this story as they battle Sammael, a Prince of Hell planning to take over the world. Previously, they have carried out similar battles; but, the danger seems more ominous now because of their love for their adopted son, Max.
