The Last Mrs. Parrish Overview

Liv Constantine's novel The Last Mrs. Parrish warns readers of the dangers of envy. Daphne Parrish seems to have everything: a beautiful house, designer clothes, a loving and incredibly wealthy husband. Amber Patterson sees this and wants it all. In order to take it, she imbeds herself within the life of Daphne Parrish, making herself a part of the family who is invited to holidays at home and vacations on the coast. Soon, Amber begins an affair with Daphne's husband and winds up pregnant with his child. But when she finds out the secret behind the Parrish's marriage, Amber will wish she had kept her distance. The novel explores ideas of justice and vengeance, illusion and reality, secrecy and deception, class inequity and materialism, and the portrayal of domestic abuse in fiction.
