The Island of Sea Women is the story of two haenyeo, women who are sea divers, on an island off the coast of Korea. A massacre severs the friendship of Young-sook and Mi-ja, and not even the marriage of their children can mend it. It takes decades and meeting her granddaughter and great-granddaughter before Young-sook can finally forgive.
