The House With a Clock in Its Walls Overview

In The House with a Clock in Its Walls by John Bellars, Lewis Barnavelt is a 10-year-old orphan who goes to live with his Uncle Jonathan, who happens to be a wizard. After arriving at Uncle Jonathan's, Lewis struggles to find friends. When he tries to impress the one boy who has been friendly, Lewis accidentally resurrects a dead witch. Through his attempts to stop the end of the world, Lewis learns some valuable lessons, including that he can be brave when he needs to be. The novel's main themes are the importance of friendship, good versus evil, and the effects of magic.
