The Hangman's Daughter Overview

The Hangman's Daughter is a novel set in the 1600s when it was common for local governments to employ a man who was responsible for the torturing and executions of criminals: the hangman. In this novel, the hangman finds himself in a situation where he must torture a woman he likes and respects for a crime he knows she did not commit. For this reason, the hangman, his daughter, and the local doctor's son take it upon themselves to find the real killer to spare the accused inevitable execution.
