Don Winslow’s The Force is a novel about an elite special force in the NYPD, the Manhattan North Special Task Force. Denny Malone is the leader of his four-man team, which begins a rapid, yearlong descent into corruption and tragedy after one of their own is killed at a crime scene. Along the way, Winslow explores brotherhood, racism, corruption, codes of honor, and religious punishment.
