Tui Sutherland's novel, The Dragonet Prophecy, is the first installment of the Wings of Fire series. A NightWing named Morrowseer issued a prophecy that five specific dragons would bring an end to an ongoing war that has ravaged the land of Pyrrhia. Known as the dragonets, Clay, Tsunami, Glory, Sunny, and Starflight hatch and spend their first years of life hidden away in a cave until their minders are ordered to kill Glory, the member of the group that was not part of the original prophecy. The others find a way to escape in order to save Glory. However, the dragonets soon discover the world outside is dangerous and cruel. After escaping from a pair of cruel dragon queens, the dragonets' bond is stronger than ever. They agree to find a way to end the war. The novel's main themes center on hope, trust, and destiny.
