Sonnet 27 (Shakespeare) Overview

Shakespeare's "Sonnet 27" is a Shakespearean sonnet published among his 154 sonnets in a 1609 folio by Thomas Thorpe. They are dedicated to "WH," usually thought to be the Earl of Pembroke. There are 13 surviving copies today. Most of the sonnets address themes of love. This sonnet, as with most of the early sonnets, is dedicated to a beautiful young man and discusses concepts like labor, rest, and their relationship to love.
