Rabbit: Autobiography of Ms. Pat Overview

Rabbit: The Autobiography of Ms. Pat tells the story of Patricia Williams's life growing up in extreme poverty. The autobiography follows Patricia through her childhood with an abusive, alcoholic mother, and through her years as a teen mother who has dropped out of school and sells crack in inner-city Atlanta to support herself and her family. Patricia's life is full of challenges, dangers, and hardships, but she is determined to make her way out of poverty and have the happy family life she has always dreamed about. Rabbit explores themes of self-esteem, getting out of poverty, the power of love, girls in poverty, and the importance of dreams.
