Patrick Connolly is a former Attorney General of Ireland who was appointed by Charles Haughey. He resigned after a man, Malcolm McArthur, later convicted of murder was found to have been his house guest part of a sequence of events that became known as GUBU. He returned to practice at the Irish bar and still works today as a Senior Counsel in Dublin.
