Plot summary

Ghost was part of a band of vicious Vikings that intend to wipe out the local population for their own settlement near the coast of North America. While on boat, their dragon ship was destroyed (either by capsizing or crashed from a storm). A native woman found Ghost and adopted him. Fifteen years passed and Ghost grew up as a local hunter and merchant. Though Starfire and Ghost have feelings for each other, they don't talk or act on their feelings. Pathfinder is a native leader and father to Starfire, he's looking for his successor as he's growing old. One day Ghost along with other natives left the village for a hunt. A young girl wandered off on her own, encountered a viking and was attacked. She escaped and ran back to the village, but unfortunately she was trailed by vikings. They razed the village and slaughtered everyone. Ghost arrived back at the village as the last living person was killed. The Vikings thought Ghost was weak, and toyed with him. He drew his sword and took out one of the Viking's eyes. He ran for his life, but was injured by an arrow. He wandered into a bear cave where Starfire and her hunting party found him. They took him to the nearest village for treatment and Starfire looked after him as he slept. In dawn the warriors of the tribe talked about attacking the Vikings, but Ghost warned them they have metal armor and swords that made them very formidable against their wood and stone weapons. Ghost told the villagers to go to the coast - that he would attack them. Ghost and his mute friend traveled to a nearby abandoned village and set a series of traps. Starfire left the group to follow Ghost, they met up and began their guerilla warfare after making love for the first time. Ghost, Starfire and his mute friend picked the vikings off one by one, stealing their armor and weapons. Pathfinder found Ghost and joined in the fight. During their fight, Ghost's mute friend gets killed and Ghost and Starfire are captured. The leader of the group recognized him as a Viking. and son of a friend he knew. They killed Pathfinder by having horses ripping his body apart and took his necklace. He threatened to butcher Starfire if ghost did not reveal the location of the next village. Under intense pressure Ghost agreed and spoke his native language for the first time since he was adopted. Starfire thought Ghost sold out their tribe until Ghost told her he had a plan. He gained the vikings trust and convinced them to follow him through a dangerous mountain path. Because of the danger of falling, Ghost advised them to tie lines to each other for safety. While staging a fight with Starfire, Ghost slung a stone to knock out one of them vikings at the end line and all of them began falling to their deaths. After an intense struggle with the viking leader (who survived the fall by cutting his ties), an avalanche was triggered and all living vikings were killed. Ghost returned to Starfire (and what's left of their tribe) and won the respect of everyone. Ghost returned with the necklace of Pathfinder (recovered it from the Viking leader) and gave it to Starfire. With the necklace of Pathfinder (symbol of leadership), the tribe submited to Starfire and Ghost. Ghost would realize his destiny as the coast watcher, brave of their tribe.
